Coventry City beat Albion 3-2 in a Sky Bet Championship clash at the CBS Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Baggies were two-up thanks to Aune Heggebø’s double, however goals by Josh Eccles, Ellis Simms and Victor Torp turned the game on its head and handed the Sky Blues all three points.
Ryan Mason’s men started brightly and grabbed a ninth-minute lead when Mikey Johnston brilliantly won possession and crossed to Heggebø - who coolly converted from close-range.
The teams soon exchanged more chances in a non-stop, fiery affair. Torp clipped the crossbar with a half-volley and Liam Kitching diverted over down one end for Coventry, while Heggebø nodded into Carl Rushworth’s arms and Jayson Molumby also saw a low shot saved.
But Albion were the side to net next - and it was through the same combination as their opener. Johnston found the Baggies’ Norwegian striker inside the area, and he made no mistake, finishing superbly.
The hosts piled on pressure ahead of half-time and halved the deficit via Eccles. Griffiths had denied him moments earlier, yet couldn’t keep out his header to make it 2-1.
The visiting goalkeeper did stop an Simms effort during first-half stoppage time, though, ensuring the Baggies held their advantage at the break.
Five minutes after the restart Albion were reduced to 10 men, Molumby shown a second yellow card by referee Andrew Kitchen.
Coventry found an equaliser just before the hour mark, Simms guiding a dangerous ball home.
And they then quickly scored again - Torp thundering their third in to complete the comeback.
