Albion and Wrexham split the Sky Bet Championship spoils with a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns on Good Friday.

Isaac Price’s deflected strike and a Josh Maja spot-kick had given James Morrison’s men a two-goal half-time lead.

However, efforts by Josh Windass and George Dobson secured the Welsh side their share of the points.

The hosts made a positive start and created early chances with Aune Heggebø seeing a finish saved and Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba curling over.

They did manage to score the game’s opening goal on 27 minutes, though, via Price. His free-kick took a small nick to deceive the Wrexham goalkeeper and make it 1-0.

And soon after, the Baggies were awarded their maiden penalty of the season when Jayson Molumby was fouled inside the area. Up stepped Maja, who made no mistake in confidently converting and doubling Albion’s advantage before half-time.

Despite being untroubled during the first period, Josh Griffiths could do nothing to prevent Wrexham from netting following the restart. Windass finished off a quick move 90 seconds into the second 45, getting the visitors back within one.

They then equalised around the hour mark. Dobson flicked home for 2-2 - and suddenly it was game-on at The Hawthorns.

Albion’s biggest opportunity to win came in the final stages, substitute Daryl Dike’s close-range attempt was somehow saved, while Griffiths was also then on hand to deny Kieffer Moore’s late shot.

Ultimately, neither team found a winner and the clash ended level.
