Albion rounded-off 2025 by beating QPR 2-1 at The Hawthorns on Monday evening.
George Campbell and Nat Phillips scored - either side of an own-goal for Rangers - to secure the Baggies a Sky Bet Championship victory.
The hosts created the game’s opening few chances, with Callum Styles heavily involved both times. He sent in two delightful set-piece deliveries, yet Mikey Johnston smashed one opportunity over, and Campbell diverted the other wide.
That Styles to Campbell combination soon paid dividends, though, when the former’s deep corner found the American defender jumping highest and nodding home his maiden Baggies goal.
However, the away side cancelled out Albion’s lead 10 minutes before the interval when Ousmane Diakité accidentally diverted the ball into his own net from a QPR free-kick.
Neither team threatened again during the first period’s final stages - but Ryan Mason’s men did go ahead following the restart via Phillips, the defender towering above everyone else inside the box and heading in Johnston’s cross.
Phillips quickly showed his worth down the other end, brilliantly blocking Koki Saito’s shot, while Karlan Grant also had multiple efforts saved as Albion tried to notch another.
Even if the third didn’t arrive, the Baggies professionaly saw it through and made sure they bounced back to earn three important points.
