"I feel proud of them for having the determination to do these things"

The Albion Foundation's Disability Department is working with local primary schools to deliver disability awareness workshops.

Through lessons in the classroom and taking part in disability sports, Year 5 and 6 pupils are taught how people with disabilities go about their everyday lives.

Old Park Primary School is one of the schools to take part in the programme.

PE teacher Chris Light spoke of the benefits of having the sessions delivered at the school.

"A lot of special needs children are in mainstream school.

"It's good to educate the children who are able-bodied about the barriers that their class friends might face on a daily basis."

Plans are in place to offer the workshops to more schools in the area.
