Albion Blind Return to Action in the 2025/26 National Blind Football League.

Albion Blind returned to action in the National Blind Football League at the Royal National College for the Blind for the first time in 2026, with mixed results for both the Premiership and Championship teams.

Premiership

The Baggies began their afternoon with a frustrating 1-0 defeat to RNC in their first Premiership fixture, which saw them have plenty of chances through Eesa Amjid and Efe Shimwell, with the Albion midfielder hitting the bar during the second half. However, they could not find an equaliser and fell to defeat in their first fixture of the new year.

This spirited performance was then repeated by the Premiership team, who faced RNC for the second time in a friendly as they looked for revenge for their defeat earlier. Despite falling behind early in the first half, their dominance was finally rewarded with a perfect finish from Efe Shimwell, which gave Albion the response they needed before it went to penalties. Unfortunately Dylan made 3 great saves from 3 good penalties, which concluded the penalties to a draw after each team missed the 3 penalties.

Championship

Their first Championship fixture fared better, with a goalless draw against RNC Men in a match that saw Albion defend with great spirit, but they were unable to find the elusive goal they needed.

Albion’s Championship team concluded their afternoon with another goalless draw, this time against RNC Women. It was the another evenly matched encounter with neither team able to break the deadlock, and not even a penalty shootout could separate the sides.

Saturday, December 6, 2025

Due to a bereavement within the community, match day one was respectfully postponed, with teams playing friendlies in its place.

Albion Blind experienced a mixed start to their 2025/26 Blind Football League campaign at the Royal National College for the Blind, with both the Premiership and Championship teams in action.

The Baggies began with an emphatic 4-1 win over Merseyside in the first Premiership fixture, where Eesa Amjid opened his account with four brilliant goals. They were made to work hard for their win as their Northwest opponents battled well until the end.

Their first Championship fixture however, would leave them on the wrong end of the same scoreline, as they fell to a 4-1 defeat to RNC Men despite Albion grabbing a late consolation through a strong strike from far outside the box. They would later follow this with a spirited goalless draw with RNC Women in a tight encounter that saw several opportunities from both sides to break the deadlock.

Albion’s Premiership team concluded their afternoon with a narrow 1-0 defeat to RNC but defended brilliantly and were close to equalising through Amjid’s chances. They unfortunately couldn’t break down a resilient RNC side, whose solidarity goal proved enough to secure their victory.
