With bags of experience in England’s top two divisions, Charlie Taylor's 2025 deadline-day arrival strengthened Albion's defensive options for the 2025/26 campaign.

The left-back arrived from Southampton, where he made eight Premier League appearances during the 24/25 season.

Despite that recent, short spell on the south coast, Charlie’s career has predominantly been played out at northern clubs.

York-born Taylor came through Leeds United’s academy - making his first-team debut aged just 17. He went on to feature more than 100 times for the Whites, alongside gaining experience with Bradford, hometown club York City, Inverness in Scotland and Fleetwood Town.

The chance to reach the highest level of English football came in July 2017 when Burnley signed the former England Under-19 international.

He was a prominent figure throughout his seven-year Turf Moor stay, amassing 220 appearances across all competitions, including the Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, both domestic cups and even the Europa League qualifying stages.

Charlie notably helped the Clarets twice record top-half finishes in the top-flight, as well as win the second-tier title during the 2022/23 term after they had suffered relegation the campaign before.

Now Taylor - who can play on the left or centrally of a back-line - will be hoping to once again achieve success in this division over the next nine months.
