U18 Report | Brighton 0-2 Albion

Albion’s youngsters made it two wins on the bounce with victory away at Brighton on Saturday.

The Baggies made a fast start to proceedings down on the Sussex coast. Goalkeeper Maxwell Moses found Harry French, who turned to spot the Brighton goalkeeper off his line, before lofting an ambitious effort over his head to hand the visitors a lead after three minutes.

Chay Thompson’s outfit doubled their advantage 17 minutes in with a well-worked team strike. Slick combination play between Rio Parmar, French and full-back Alfie Maughan left Ryan Colesby to fire into the top corner for their second.

Albion could’ve made the scoreline even more comfortable moments later when Parmar struck the post, just before rifling over from close range.

Both teams had chances in the second period, but no further goals were added. The result leaves the Baggies 8th in the standings, just six points off top.

Albion: Moses (Trialist 65), Maughan, DuPont (Asomugha 65’), Perkins, Letlat, Blackshields, Colesby, Iddrisa, Parmar (Dexter 77’), French (Sankoh 77’), Okorodudu (Francis-Caesar 65’).
