Albion's U18s begin their journey in FA Youth Cup with a third-round clash against AFC Bournemouth at The Hawthorns on Wednesday night (ko 7pm).

It will be the first fixture of the tournament for both sides, and the Baggies' academy hopefuls will be looking to make a positive start at the Shrine.

This competition has been one which has seen youngsters thrive in recent years, with Reyes Cleary scoring a memorable brace to help Albion come from behind twice to beat Rotherham 3-2 at The Hawthorns in 2021, while Tom Fellows and Caleb Taylor were an integral part of the squad which reached the semi-finals of the Youth Cup in the 2020/21 season.

Part of the coaching team involved in getting the young Baggies to the last-four remains in the academy setup to this day, with 18s Lead Leigh Downing currently enjoying his second year in charge of the club's scholars.

And he will be keen on avenging his team's early exit from the tournament last year with a positive showing against the Cherries under the lights this time around.
