Reach headlines Friday night’s Albion News

QPR Prog story

Adam Reach stars as Albion News' feature interview for the Sky Bet Championship clash with QPR at The Hawthorns on Friday night.

Reach has started the Baggies’ last two league fixtures against Derby County and Preston North End, occupying the left wing-back role behind Grady Diangana.

There’s been no shortage of chances created in recent matches, and the versatile 28-year-old has his sights set on continuing Albion’s front-footed approach and is aiming to contribute a few assists of his own this term.

The 28-year-old, who graduated from Middlesbrough’s academy system, has enjoyed promotion pushes with his first club and at Sheffield Wednesday during his career. He speaks in-depth about the challenges ahead and the faith supporters need to maintain when opposition teams set up differently to combat the Baggies’ system.

But with the “quality” Albion have in the attacking positions, the midfielder is confident small adjustments and progress will come - and Reach has urged his team-mates to use Friday evening’s game as a “catalyst” in order to gain maximum points from their remaining three outings before the October international break.

The gaffer, Valérien Ismaël, and skipper, Jake Livermore, provide the latest instalment of their regular columns.

Ismaël discusses the importance of his side finding their “killer instinct”, while Albion’s commanding captain stresses the need for everyone connected to the club to be on the “same positive page” as the Baggies look to bounce back against Rangers.

Meanwhile we catch up with Albion goalkeeper and England Under-21 international Josh Griffiths, who’s enjoying the challenge of holding down the No.1 spot during his loan spell at Sky Bet League One side Lincoln City this term. Callum Morton and Jovan Malcolm also feature in our academy section, as we assess their recent scoring form for fellow third-tier outfits Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley.
