Albion will play their first Premier League 2 home fixture against local rivals Aston Villa on Monday afternoon (ko 2pm).
The build-up to this match has seen the Baggies appoint former Lead U18 Coach Leigh Downing as the Under-21s' Senior Professional Development Phase Coach.
As a result, Downing - alongside fellow PDP Coach Deon Burton - will lead the club's young professionals going forward, with plenty of work put in during his first week in charge to try and register a first win of the campaign against a familiar foe.

Last time out
A damaging 4-0 defeat to Brighton wasn't how the young Baggies would've wanted to start their PL2 journey this term.
It was a one-sided affair on the south coast, but Downing and his team will be looking to right their wrongs in an exciting local derby clash on home soil.

Venue
Albion's PL2 team will play their first match of the 2025/26 season at Solihull Moors' Damson Park on Monday afternoon.
The National League side's stadium will once again be one of the 21s' main venues during the campaign.

Pre-match thoughts
Both new PL2 boss Leigh Downing and young attacker Ollie Bostock have been speaking ahead of the bank holiday Monday clash with Aston Villa.
"To be taking the U21 team is a really proud moment for me and one I'm looking forward to," said the Senior PDP Coach.
"The boys have got a good games programme this year and, hopefully, that will expose them to different things that will help them bridge the gap between 21s and first-team football.
"Jimmy Shan is someone I've known throughout my time at Albion and I came up against him twice last season when he was U18s manager at Villa.
"So we know they'll make it difficult and the lads here are looking for a reaction to the Brighton match.
"They've been positive in training and, hopefully, they can show that by producing a good performance on Monday."

Wales U19 international Bostock added: "I remember him (Downing) coaching me at under-7s so it's great to see Leigh step up to the U21s.
"I like the way he plays because it compliments me, gets me on the ball a lot - as we saw in the Youth Cup last season - and it's really exciting times, so hopefully we can play some good football under him.
"Wanting to play senior football is the boat me, and a lot of others, are in at the moment but whatever happens, I just want to play my best football, show what I can do, score some goals and get assists too along the way.
"It's always nice to play Villa, everyone here is up for it and it's another chance to perform and, hopefully, get three points everyone can enjoy."
