Eseosa Sule's hat-trick helped Albion's youngsters book a spot in the final four of the Premier League Cup at the expense of AFC Bournemouth in dramatic fashion on Friday night.
Nine goals were scored at the Vitality Stadium, with the Baggies fighting back from 2-0 down to go in on level terms at the break before five further strikes crashed into the back of both nets in the second period.
Defenders George Shaw and Noah DuPont opened and closed the scoring for the visitors respectively, with Sule notching his treble in between in what was a thoroughly entertaining contest.
The Cherries put themselves in a really strong position early on in the game, registering two goals inside the opening 23 minutes.
Koby Mottoh grabbed the first, passing the ball into the bottom corner from inside the box. Michael Dacosta Gonzalez then doubled the advantage with a splendid shot from the best part of 25 yards.
However, Deon Burton's boys responded positively and pulled one back less than 120 seconds after Bournemouth's second. George Shaw ghosted in and headed home to score for the first time at PL2 level.
That effort gave the Baggies confidence and they capitalised on the swing in momentum moments before the break. Incisive play down the left between Remar McNeil and the Scottish forward resulted in the latter firing the ball under the Cherries goalkeeper Kai Crampton.
Albion completed the turnaround at the very start of the second half. Sule reacted quickest after the ball dropped loose in the box, slamming in from virtually on the goal line to make it 3-2.
And the striker sealed his treble in the 55th minute, confidently guiding the ball into the far corner along the turf to give the away outfit a two-goal cushion.
Remy Rees-Dottin halved that cushion 18 minutes from time when he powered an attempt high into the net after he'd been found in space on the left side of the box.
But the Baggies weren't to be deterred. New Zealand youth international Noah DuPont nodded in at the back post after the hosts failed to deal with a left-wing corner, a goal which made it 5-3 heading into the final ten.
Incredibly, there was still time for one last goal. Eugene Nyarko slid in to get first contact on the ball and managed to guide it beyond Ben Cisse in added time. Thankfully, Albion defended the closing stages resolutely and secured a semi-final spot.
