Albion Under-21s will travel to Leeds United for their first Premier League 2 match of the campaign after having their fixtures for the 2026/27 season confirmed.
Leigh Downing's young charges will encounter back-to-back away trips at the beginning of the term, travelling to West Yorkshire on Sunday, August 23 (ko 1pm) before facing Derby County on Monday, August 31 (ko 1pm).
Their first home fixture comes in the form of Newcastle United on Monday, September 14 (ko 7pm), but this coming campaign will provide some stern tests - with elite academy sides such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur taking on the Baggies' young pros over the course of the season.
Last time around, Downing's team finished 26th in the PL2 standings and with an exciting group at his disposal this year, the Lead U21 Professional Development Phase Coach will hope to obtain a higher finish.
The format for the division remains the same; the top 16 sides qualifying for the end-of-season play-offs - facing opposing clubs based on their opposite league position (1st versus 16th, 2nd versus 15th, etc.) - with the elimination games consisting of standalone round of 16, quarter-final, semi-final and final encounters.
An additional benefit of finishing in those coveted positions is the invitation to participate in the proceeding's campaign's Premier League International Cup, a tournament Albion have played in before - facing the like of Juventus, Valencia, Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Nordsjælland.
