Baggies youngster Jaiden Francis-Caesar has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The striker has penned a one-year contract, which keeps him at The Hawthorns until June 2027, with the option of a further year in the club’s favour.

It was a transitional 2025/26 campaign in Albion's PL2 team for Francis-Caesar, who scored memorable goals against Valencia and Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Premier League International Cup - as well assisting in an eye-catching 4-2 victory over Italian giants Juventus.

Initially moving to The Hawthorns in 2024, South London-born Jaiden also provided five contributions (three goals, two assists) in the U18s, and another year in the Black Country will give the speedy attacker time to build consistency in front of goal.

Following confirmation of the 18-year-old’s new deal, Academy Manager Richard Stevens said: “Jaiden has many good qualities and is a good addition to our programme.

“He’s one of many examples where young lads enter academies from a different route, joining us later into the scholarship programme previously.

“There are some very good physical and footballing attributes in his game and Jaiden must continue to work and build on those to know what it takes to play at the next level.

“He had a very good season last time out, played up in the 21s, scored goals, and his pace is a powerful attribute which can push him on in his career.

“We felt Jaiden needed another year here to mature, build on his game, but he now has to turn energy, passion and rawness into consistent, established performances this coming season.”
