PL2 Report | Norwich City 4-1 Albion

Albion Under-21s had their winning Premier League 2 run ended by Norwich City on Friday evening.

The Baggies opened the scoring through Charlie Blackshields, but four Canaries goals in reply meant the hosts secured all three points at the Avant Training Centre.

Midfielder Blackshields put a fragmented opening few moments to bed. The ball found its way out to the edge of the area from a corner, where the 17-year-old was waiting. He was obliged to shoot and nestled a low effort into the bottom corner.

In similar circumstances, Norwich struck back around 10 minutes later, as Charlie Wilson collected a loose set-piece to polish off an equaliser for the hosts. Shortly after, Elliot Myles produced a mazy run through the centre of the pitch before chipping a high effort over the onrushing Ben Cisse to double their lead.

The hosts scored a third just before the hour mark after Noah DuPont was adjudged to have fouled Kahlil Steele inside the box. The 17-year-old then dusted himself down to convert the penalty for 3-1.

The young Canaries’ fourth came as the ball dropped at the boot of Luke Towler after a corner, making no mistake in striking home from close range - the final effort on goal as Albion left East Anglia with nothing to show for their efforts.
