New signing Max O’Leary hopes his “experience” and level of “consistency” can help propel the Baggies up the Sky Bet Championship table.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper joined Albion on a short-term deal until the end of the 2025/26 campaign from Bristol City.
O’Leary has over 150 second-tier appearances to his name and says his main focus is to help Eric Ramsay’s men earn crucial victories.
The Republic of Ireland international said: “The move came about pretty quickly. It all got sorted very swiftly and I’m really happy to be here.
“It was time for something new and a fresh challenge. When I was told about the interest, it was a move I was keen on making. I know the position of the club is difficult at the moment in terms of the table, but hopefully I can come in and help.
“I’ve managed to build a consistency over the time that I’ve been playing in the Championship, especially in the last few years.
“I’ve played a lot of games and I know what my body needs to get through those games. I’ve grown and helped out on and off the pitch, and I’ve tried to step into more of a leadership role by trying to drive the boys in front of me while I’m in goal.
“I’m coming here with a lot of experience and a lot of consistency. I think my shot-stopping is pretty good, as is my communication with the back line. Those aspects are pretty key for a goalkeeper. I’d like to think my reading of the game is at a good level too.
“Hopefully I can instil a bit of confidence and help the team get some positive results.
“I trained on Thursday for the first time. I knew a few of the lads here so it was good to see familiar faces. Everyone was very welcoming and it was a good training session, so I’m looking forward to getting going.
“The main focus here is to get results and help push the club up the table.”
