Check out a selection of pre-match stats ahead of West Bromwich Albion's Sky Bet Championship battle with Birmingham City on Saturday lunchtime (ko 12.30pm)...

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Albion have the chance to extend their unbeaten run against Birmingham City to four matches this weekend. The Baggies had suffered four straight defeats to their West Midlands rivals prior to that sequence starting in February 2024.

Albion have had just one defeat in their last eight home games against Birmingham City, winning four and drawing three.

The Baggies have failed to score in just one of their last 13 home matches against the Blues - a 0-0 draw in the Championship in June 2020.

West Bromwich Albion boss James Morrison will be coming up against Birmingham City for the fifth time in his career and for the first time as a head coach. He had a positive playing record against Blues, winning three, drawing one and scoring once in four matches.

The two West Midlands rivals will be going head-to-head for the 140th time this weekend. Albion have 61 triumphs in this fixture, with Blues tasting victory in 39. There have also been 39 draws.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The Baggies are 11 games unbeaten on home soil, last losing in front of their own supporters on February 21, 2026 to Coventry City. They've won four and drawn seven of those 11 fixtures.

James Morrison's men have conceded just three goals in their last seven home matches, keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Albion are the only team in the second tier yet to be trailing at the break. The Baggies have been leading in two and drawing in six of their eight Championship matches so far at the halfway stage.

The Baggies have lost just three of their last 19 Championship games and haven't suffered back-to-back defeats in the second tier since January.

BIRMINGHAM CITY

The Blues have lost just one of their last seven away games in all competitions - a 2-1 reverse at Norwich City in early September.

All three of their victories in 2026/27 have come on their travels. Birmingham won at Swansea City in the Carabao Cup before going on to record league triumphs at Wrexham and Derby County.

Saturday's guests have scored five headed goals so far in the second tier, which is more than any other team heading into the weekend schedule.

Both teams have scored in all of Birmingham City's last eight games, with 30 goals flying in across those fixtures.
