Karlan Grant stars in Friday’s Albion News

Blues programme push

In-form attacker Karlan Grant is determined to keep the goals coming when Albion host Birmingham City in Friday’s West Midlands derby at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies star enjoyed a number of standout displays going into the international break, netting a match-winning double to defeat QPR 2-1 before setting Valérien Ismaël’s men on their way to consecutive triumphs with an early goal during a 4-0 victory against Cardiff City.

Grant’s goalscoring heroics meant he’d bagged three goals in as many games heading into the recent October international break, and while he admits Albion were disappointed going into it following their first league defeat to Stoke, he’s looking forward to putting it right against Blues.

Skipper Jake Livermore joins the gaffer in providing the latest instalment of their usual columns, and they’re both encouraging a different reaction from the Baggies to their first Sky Bet Championship defeat of the campaign when their local rivals visit The Hawthorns.

Jamie Andrews features in our latest academy interview, and it’s a story which is well worth a read as the promising midfielder discusses his early but pivotal positional change, before revealing how he fought back from a serious medical emergency to enjoy some of his best moments in an Albion shirt.
