James Morrison says Albion are refreshed, excited and fully focused on the task at hand ahead of their return to Sky Bet Championship action this weekend.
The Baggies have a second-tier double-header coming up, taking on play-off chasing Wrexham at The Hawthorns on Good Friday (ko 3pm) before travelling up to Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday (ko 3pm).
Morrison’s men picked up eight points from their four fixtures in March and have their sights set on securing a third straight victory following triumphs over Hull City and Bristol City.
The interim head coach insists there’s a vibrancy among the squad and revealed he and his backroom staff have been working hard over the last week to “maintain positivity and momentum” through training.

He said: “We used the break as an opportunity to rest and recover, but also to carry out some important work on the training pitches.
“We like to try and keep the rhythm going and also the momentum, but the last few games have been taxing physically and mentally. We’ve had a nice break, but we’re refreshed and ready to go again. We want that feeling back again that we had after the Hull City and Bristol City games.
“The group has been vibrant. We’ve put an emphasis on that as well during the training sessions this week. We’ve tried to maintain the positivity and the momentum through the sessions that we’ve done. We’ve put 100 percent into that.
“We’ve also spoken about the fact that we’ve still got a big job to do. By no means have we achieved what we need to just because we’ve won our last two. I’ve asked the players to maximise every training session, and if they’re not, it’s my job to tell the players things aren’t at the level they need to be on a consistent basis.
“We’ve had an eye on these two games over Easter for a while. There’s obviously six big points up for grabs, points which could be massive at this stage.
“We have to focus on our performance and try and put in a display similar to the ones we’ve produced recently. I’m sure if we keep to that level, the results will continue to come.”

Several first-team players represented their countries over the international break, with midfielders Jayson Molumby and Isaac Price competing in 2026 FIFA World Cup play-off battles.
Both Baggies suffered disappointment, with the Republic of Ireland losing on penalties to Czechia and Northern Ireland beaten 2-0 by Italy.
Morrison says he’s asked the duo to put that setback behind them and focus on firing West Bromwich Albion to Championship safety in the final seven encounters.
He added: “The lads who were away representing their nations came back in on Thursday in good spirits.
“Obviously, a couple of them have had some really disappointing results, but I’ve asked them to try and forget about that and focus on everything here at the Albion with the challenge we’ve got ahead of us. We’ve got seven games to go and I trust those players immensely. They trained well on Thursday and they’re ready to perform on Friday.
“It’s part of the job when you’re a footballer – separating the emotions of playing for your country and experiencing the highs and lows, and then coming back tom your club and trying to perform.
“The international break can be a nice break from the usual routine at times and you can put in good performances while you’re away which you can then bring back into your club form. The boys that went away on international duty had been in good form for us, so long may that continue.”
Visitors Wrexham are sat seventh in the standings and are chasing a spot in the top six.
Morrison is expecting a physical challenge in B71, saying: “Wrexham will be a big challenge in terms of physicality, the way they play and the way their manager sets them up.
“I’ve got a huge amount of respect for Phil Parkinson for the job he has done there and what he’s achieved in football. He’s been around the game for a long time.
“They’ve signed some quality players who have the ability to hurt us, so it’s going to be a similar test to what we’ve faced in recent weeks.
“Our preparation has been good, we’re confident and we’re ready to perform.”
