Ben Davies' own goal, combined with Gustav Isaksen's effort, handed the Danes victory in Copenhagen.
They will have another chance to get their first Group A4 points at home to Norway on Thursday (ko 7.45pm).
Meanwhile, Tammer Bany was introduced for the final few minutes as Jordan drew 1-1 against Syria in a friendly.
Goals by Ali Olwan (Jordan) and Jan Mustafa (Syria) ensured the sides cancelled each other out.
Bany's team have one more game during this international break - a clash with Venezuela on Tuesday, October 6 (ko 6pm).
