Away from Albion | Harry Whitwell helps Forest Green Rovers claim injury-time point

Albion youngster Harry Whitwell was in the starting XI as loan club Forest Green Rovers earned a stoppage-time point against Scunthorpe United on Saturday afternoon.

The midfielder was in from the off for a third match running under boss Robbie Savage, whose team went behind after just two minutes on home soil following Declan Howe's early opener.

That's how proceedings stayed up until the 98th minute, and with young Whitwell in the box for a late delivery, his presence helped the hosts claim an equaliser right at the death as James Balazigi slammed home amongst a goal-mouth scramble to ensure Rovers recorded a share of the spoils.

Late events meant Harry's loan team stretched their unbeaten start in the National League to nine games and stayed in the top two places - taking them level with table-toppers Rochdale on 21 points.

Defender Michael Parker started for non-league Hereford in their Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round match against Sporting Khalsa over the weekend.

Sadly, the game was abandoned at the Guardian Warehousing Arena after 67 minutes following reports of alleged racist abuse from the crowd.

The Baggies' third youngster out on loan, Akeel Higgins, was not involved in Sky Bet League One side Exeter City's squad for their home match against Port Vale on Saturday afternoon.

The attacker missed out through injury and, unfortunately, he could only watch on as Gary Caldwell's side lost 2-0 at St James Park following first-half goals from Ruari Paton and former Albion forward, Devante Cole.
