Welcome back to ‘The Albion Girls’, our feature in which members of West Bromwich Albion Women’s squad reveal all about their team-mates!
Captain Olivia Rabjohn and defender Zoe Creaney are the latest players to take on the key questions about life in the Baggies’ dressing room.
Next up to tackle the all-important topics, is goalkeeper Lavarna Johnson, who has often been the target of other players’ answers so far.
Take it away, LJ!
Who has the worst banter in the squad?
Everyone’s quite funny in their own way. I’d probably say someone like Hannah George, her sense of humour is quite dry, and you have to try and understand it sometimes.
Who is most likely to get lost in their hometown or city?
I would say there are a couple of people for this one. Ruby Heselden or Seren Watkins, sometimes I look at them and think there’s not a single thought going through your head right now.
Who would you say is the funniest member of the squad?
I’d like to say me, but everyone keeps saying that I’m not funny. Even people like Ella Haughey, Phoebe Warner or Seren – I find myself laughing at every training session.
Who’s the coolest in the squad?
I’d say Phoebe in terms of being different, I don’t think a lot of people could rock what she does. I’d also say Monique Robinson, she’s always nonchalant and sometimes I’m scared to approach her because she’s so in the zone.
Which player would you love to go on holiday with, and where would you go?
I’d go with Marli Rhodes, because she goes on so many holidays every year. When she goes, she has notes on everything she does during the day. I wouldn’t even have to stress because I know she’d have every angle covered. I’d just turn up with a suitcase, but I don’t think she’d say the same for me.
If you could be one member of the squad for 24 hours?
Phoebe, there’s nobody like her. Izzy Green would be good too, I just want to be that calm – I’ve never been that calm in my life.
Who gets the most fines in the squad?
Charlotte Clarke gets away with them a lot, she’s late all of the time, I’ve never seen her pick up a fine for it. Taylor Reynolds gets a lot, for everything, like not doing her wellness and forgetting her boots. She was bad in pre-season but she’s got a lot better. I only have about three or four fines this season, I’m very proud of myself.
If you had to call one person and your life depends on them answering the phone, who would you call?
I’d call Zoe Creaney. I’ve phoned her a couple of times and even if she doesn’t answer, she’ll message me straight away to ask what’s up?
Who gets the most stick from the coaching staff?
I don’t want to say myself, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say me. I don’t even try, sometimes I’m just being me, if it makes everyone laugh, I don’t mind being the target of it.
It’s late in the game, you’re drawing 0-0 and you’ve won a penalty, who are you calling to score?
Me and Simran Jhamat do penalties after training quite a bit. I’d have to say her because it’s a bit bad if I don’t pick her now. She scores against me, because I like to give her confidence before a match.
Who’s the biggest football fan?
I’d have to say Zoe again. Every weekend me and Zoe message about every game, as Villa and Man United fans, we’ve had a few messages recently – she didn’t let me live the recent game down.
Who’s the worst at replying in the group chat?
It’s not great for the younger ones. I reply on the player group chat a lot, not the main one with the staff – they’re watching on that one. People like me, Millie Pullen and Naomi Sharp don’t really reply on there. We just read it and move on.
Who do you think is the busiest player?
I think it could be me. I balance work, university and football, but maybe Phoebe. She always comes to training in her work clothes so she must be doing something.
Who has the best fashion taste in the squad?
I don’t see too many people when they’re out and about. In terms of everyday style, I’d probably say Rhianne Oakley and Taylor, they like to go out so their wardrobe is full of clothes.
