A young Albion team progressed to the second round of the Birmingham Senior Cup after an emphatic 7-1 win over Bedworth United on Tuesday evening.
Leigh Downing's team did go behind in the tie to an early spot-kick which was dispatched by their non-league hosts, but the Baggies' academy prospects soon asserted their control and turned the tide in rapid fashion.
Good work down the left by Algeria U21 international Adam Letlat allowed him to find Charlie Blackshields free in the box to net the equaliser, and Rio Parmar was the man to put the visitors in the ascendency before the break - finding space on the edge of the 18-yard box to fire in a second goal.
Albion's hopefuls took the game away from Bedworth following the restart, with left-back Letlat going from provider to goalscorer with a confident finish outside of the box after a well-worked set-piece, and striker Jaiden Francis-Caesar got on the scoresheet next - finishing within 18 yards to make it 4-1.
Four became five when when Under-18s midfielder Ryan Colesby displayed good close control inside the box to slot the ball past the home shot-stopper and, with their dominance firmly on proceedings, Downing's group didn't stop there.
Miller McDonald benefitted from Letlat's ingenuity next to record the Baggies' sixth with aplomb and Blackshields managed to get his brace and put added shine on the young Baggies' performance by nodding in from a late delivery for his team's seventh of the match.
The result saw Downing's boys comfortably cruise through to the third round of the Birmingham Senior Cup, with their opponents for the tie to be confirmed and communicated in due course.
