The young Baggies delivered a spirited performance down in the capital, but they were undone by a single Hammers strike which came 15 minutes from the end of the match.
Leigh Downing’s group are next in action on Saturday, October 8 when they host Ipswich Town in their second game of the Premier League Cup.
