Tom Fellows makes England debut & Semi Ajayi features in Nigeria win

Tom Fellows made his international debut for England on Friday afternoon, featuring for the Men’s Elite League Squad in their tremendous 5-1 win against Poland.

The Baggies youngster started for the Young Lions, formerly known as the under-20s, in Białystok and went on to complete 71 minutes of the triumph before being replaced by Wigan Athletic’s Martial Godo. 

In typical fashion, Fellows even bagged himself a brace of assists on his maiden appearance for his nation. 

Tottenham Hotpsur forward Dane Scarlett scored a hat-trick, with England’s other goals coming from Tim Iroegbunam and Ben Nelson. Poland’s solitary strike arrived courtesy of Jan Zuberek.

Tom will be determined to earn a second cap when his side take on Czech Republic in Ostrava on Tuesday.

In Africa, defender Semi Ajayi completed 90 minutes for Nigeria who beat Ghana 2-1 in a friendly. 

Cyriel Dessers (p) and Ademola Lookman were on target for the Super Eagles, while Jordan Ayew scored a late consolation penalty for Ghana at Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.

Ajayi and Nigeria are back in action on Tuesday when they take on Mali at the same venue. 

Elsewhere, forward Callum Marshall was an unused substitute for Northern Ireland who drew 1-1 against Romania in a friendly which was contested in Bucharest. 

The Green and White Army take on Scotland at Hampden Park on Tuesday night – a contest Callum will have his sights set on playing a part in.
