Albion have signed exciting young striker Barney Stewart from Scottish Premiership side Falkirk for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 22-year-old joins the Baggies on a four-year contract after enjoying a prolific 2025/26 campaign.
Fresh from helping Falkirk to promotion in his breakthrough year, the centre-forward netted eight goals in 12 appearances while on loan at second-tier team Dunfermline Athletic during the first half of last season, before being recalled to his parent club.
And Stewart’s impressive form continued back in the top flight with the Bairns, where he scored 10 and assisted twice over 21 league and cup matches.
In his first WBA TV interview since arriving at the Albion, the attacker said: “I had a great chat with the manager James Morrison. He won loads of caps for Scotland and he’s got loads of contacts up there, so he knows lots about me.
“I’m so excited by the challenge of playing in the Championship. I love the frequency of the games and it’s one of the best leagues in the world to watch. To be a part of the division will be incredible.
“I saw a stat the other day which said that only one of my goals was scored when I had a touch before the finish, which suggests there’s plenty of first-time finishes. I come to life around the box and that’s my speciality.
“I’m very confident that I can score the goals here at the Albion, just like I did last year for Dunfermline and Falkirk. I’m a confident person and I’ll always back myself. I’d absolutely love to find the same form as last year, starting in pre-season.”
Welcome to the Baggies, Barney!
