Loan review | Trio of goalscorers as five players get valuable minutes

An image of Mo Faal celebrating

Three Albion players netted for their loan clubs during another busy weekend of EFL and non-league action.

Mo Faal grabbed his seventh goal of the season as he opened the scoring in Doncaster’s Sky Bet League Two match against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon.

They were unable to secured the three points, though, eventually losing 3-2 at the Mornflake Stadium, with Faal playing the full 90 minutes.

In the Championship, Taylor Gardner-Hickman curled home a spectacular effort for Bristol City to help them beat Middlesbrough 3-2.

It was the midfielder’s first since joining the West Country club earlier this campaign, and helped give Liam Manning a maiden win as Robins boss.

Karlan Grant also notched a second-tier goal, getting Cardiff’s equaliser as they struck twice in stoppage time to record a 2-1 victory over Preston North End.

The win sees the Bluebirds occupy seventh in the table - two points behind Albion ahead of Tuesday night’s clash.

Elsewhere, Jamie Andrews started and completed just over an hour in the colours of League Two side Grimbsy Town, who drew 1-1 with Sutton United.

And goalkeeper Brad Foster was praised for his part in Alvechurch’s 1-1 Southern League Premier Division Central tie against Kettering, making some important stops to help the 10-men claim a point.
