Loan Review: Mixed fortunes for players away from B71

Josh Griffiths in action for Lincoln

Four Albion players were in action away from The Hawthorns over the weekend and midweek.

Josh Griffiths made his 34th appearance for Lincoln, but couldn't help the side to victory as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Gillingham.

Two goals in the second half from Vadaine Oliver and Ben Thompson proved enough to condemn Michael Appleton's side to defeat at the LNER Stadium.

That result leaves Lincoln 18th in League One, four points above the relegation zone.

Callum Morton made his seventh league appearance for Peterborough in their 3-0 defeat to Hull in the Championship.

Morton played the entire game, but a Tyler Smith strike and a double from Keane Lewis-Potter secured the points for the Tigers.

Defender Kevin Joshua enjoyed better fortunes, earning a clean sheet in Waterford's 1-0 win over Bray in the League of Ireland First Division.

Louis Britton netted the only goal of the game, keeping up the Munster club's winning start to the season.

Romaine Sawyers was an unused substitute over the weekend for Stoke City, but did start and log an assist in the Potters' FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

Josh Tymon got the goal for Stoke at Selhurst Park as the Eagles claimed passage into the quarter-finals. Cheikou Kouyate and Jaïro Riedewald scored in a busy second half to earn a 2-1 win for Patrick Vieira's side.

Elsewhere, Owen Windsor, Jamie Soule and Jovan Malcolm were all unused substitutes for their respective loan sides.
