Ismaël's fitness update on Mowatt and Diangana

Mowatt update

Valérien Ismaël says Alex Mowatt will be closely monitored before a decision is made on his availability for Wednesday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Swansea City.

The midfielder was substituted in the second half of Friday’s 1-0 win over Birmingham City at The Hawthorns after taking a knock to his toe.

The boss has also revealed the trip to the Swansea.com Stadium will come too soon for winger Grady Diangana, who is recovering from a hamstring complaint.

Ismaël is confident Grady will be in contention to face Bristol City on home soil at the weekend, should the next few days of training go to plan.

Val said: “We’ll assess Alex before the game at Swansea.

“We’re going to keep a close eye on things and how he is before we make a decision on him.

“Grady won’t be available for the game because he only had his first session with the group on Tuesday.

“It’s too close for him to be able to play.

“If everything goes correctly then hopefully him being available for Saturday won’t be a problem.”
