Albion can confirm Interim Head Coach James Morrison will continue to lead the men’s first team for the remainder of the season.

The 39-year-old Baggies legend has today added highly regarded technical coach Matt Gill to his backroom staff for the Sky Bet Championship run-in.

Gill arrives with significant experience having previously worked at a host of British clubs, including Southampton, where he assisted Russell Martin to Premier League promotion in 2024.

Morrison said: “I’m delighted to welcome Matt to the Albion, as we prepare for the challenge of keeping the club in the Championship.

“Matt is a first-class coach with an outstanding character, and I am convinced he will help us turn the tide on what has obviously been an incredibly poor season to date.

“Together, with Damia and Boaz, we must rebuild confidence in the players on the training pitch, so we are equipped to deliver under pressure in matches.

“I completely appreciate that it can’t have been easy being a fan this season – and I’m not going to ask them to do anything. This is about us showing the fight and desire expected of a West Bromwich Albion team. Our fans will respond to that as they always do, with wholehearted, passionate support, that raises the roof of wherever we’re playing.

“I’m completely committed to getting us over the line, and I know from experience that when this club comes together in moments of adversity, it can achieve anything.”
