Steve Bruce has confirmed Kyle Bartley and Matty Phillips are doubtful for Albion’s Sky Bet Championship trip to Sheffield United on Wednesday night (ko 7.45pm).
Defender Bartley is suffering with illness while Phillips has picked up a problem with his foot.
Bruce said: “Unfortunately we have a couple of issues in terms of fitness ahead of the game.
“We might have lost Kyle Bartley because he is sick and Matty Phillips because he has a foot injury. We don’t know the extent of it at this moment in time.
“It’s part and parcel of the game.
“We’re going to pick up injuries along the way.”
