Brandon Thomas-Asante | 'Reachy deserves special mention'

Brandon Thomas-Asante insists Adam Reach deserves a special mention for his performance against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The versatile midfielder was named in Albion’s starting XI for the first time since April 2023 for the clash with Rovers after missing the opening half of the campaign with a thigh injury.

Reach impressed down the left flank at The Hawthorns, completing just under an hour before being replaced by Spanish defender Pipa, who also caught the eye on the day.

Brandon believes the 30-year-old sets a great example behind the scenes and says he was delighted to see the former Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough man play a crucial role in last weekend’s triumph.

The striker said: “I’d really like to give Reachy a special mention.

“He’s probably been an unsung hero for a large part of his time here and definitely since I’ve been here.

“The way he applies himself is brilliant. He’s been through injuries and has always come back.

“He’s always one of, if not the fittest member of the squad and he continues to show his quality.

“He always puts so much effort into every little thing that he does and he’s a great example for us all to follow.

“Sometimes people don’t get a mention, but I thought he was excellent on Saturday against Blackburn.

“He came into the side for the first time since April I believe and produced a really good performance, so we were all delighted for him.”
