Two Baggies featured for their respective loan teams over the weekend.

Midfielder Cole Deeming was one of those who gained more senior minutes at fourth tier Cheltenham Town, but his substitute appearance couldn't prevent them falling to a 3-2 defeat against Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday afternoon.

The Albion academy graduate entered the game in the 73rd minute with Steve Cotterill's men trailing 3-1 on home soil, but Deeming did his best to put the pressure on their Buckinghamshire opponents by sending a cutting through ball for Isaac Hutchinson to finish.

Despite being a goal away from claiming a point, the Robins couldn't find a leveller in stoppage time - meaning Cole's team suffered a fourth consecutive league defeat which leaves them 18th in the Sky Bet League Two standings.

Jamal Mohammed had a more enjoyable weekend as the centre-back continued his starting berth for Southern League Premier Division South side Gloucester City in their 3-1 home win over Weymouth.

Harry Pinchard, Joe Hanks and King Baidoo were on the scoresheet to ensure the points stayed at The KMM Energy Stadium, with veteran forward Reuben Reid netting a response for the visitors.

It was a fifth-straight start for young Mohammed since his move to the Cotswolds in January, and it's clear the 19-year-old has cemented a regular place in boss Daf Williams' starting XI after helping City to four wins from their last five matches.

Gloucester currently occupy second place in the Division South table.

Attacker Akeel Higgins was on the bench for Sky Bet League One team Exeter City over the weekend, but was an unused substitute in their 0-0 draw away at Mansfield Town.

It was a similar story for young defender Evan Humphries at Enterprise National League North outfit, Oxford City, who watched on as his team also played out a stalemate at Leamington.
