Albion Women hit Sporting Khalsa for five on their return to The Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.
A pair of braces from Monique Robinson and Lucy Day, followed by Fran Orthodoxou and Ellie May’s late efforts - secured all three FAWNL Northern Premier points one a successful outing to please a buoyant set of fans at the Shrine.
In an attempt to freshen the squad up, boss Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made four changes to the side that were beaten by Wolves in midweek. Day, Riya Mannu, Orthodoxou and Simran Jhamat were all reintroduced to the starting XI.
And the Baggies arrived with the same rejuvenated attitude to proceedings. Some intuitive play from Jhamat left Robinson through on goal, she hit the post with her initial effort, but was on hand to poke the opener home in-front of a jubilant crowd in B71.
The attacking midfielder wasn’t done there, as less than 10 minutes later she doubled her tally for the afternoon - and Albion’s total. Robinson picked off a loose Khalsa clearance, leaving her in space to curl home a deserved second for the hosts.
Charlotte Clarke was called into action as the half came to a close, but otherwise, Hodgetts-Still’s side were full-value for their lead at the break.
But they weren’t done there, defender Day, stepping into midfield for the day - put further gloss on a successful afternoon. She rose highest to meet Robinson’s corner to nod home an Albion third.
Moments later, she was on hand for her second, and the Baggies’ fourth. Day ghosted in at the back post to bundle home Ella Haughey’s dangerous corner delivery, continuing the rout at the Shrine.
Midfielder Orth0doxou was next to etch her name on the scoresheet, the ball dropped nicely for her inside the box, leaving her to smash past Lily Clark in the Khalsa goal - taking the hosts’ total to five for the afternoon.
Clark made two big saves as substitutes Marli Rhodes and May hit from close range, and the latter notched a sixth at the back post as they left The Hawthorns having put on another fine performance.
