Albion secure 4-0 victory over Stratford Town in Birmingham Senior Cup

Jovan Malcolm celebrates scoring for Albion's PL2 side

Jovan Malcolm's hat-trick helped a young Albion side ease past non-league Stratford Town to progress in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Richard Beale named a strong side for the Baggies' second-round clash at the Arden Garages Stadium, and it was his team who forced the issue during the first 45.

Teenage forward Malcolm gave Albion a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time, and although the hosts made a positive start after the interval, the 19-year-old completed his hat-trick with two strikes in the second period to put the visitors in complete control.

Substitute Akeel Higgins was on hand late on to net the fourth and final goal of the contest to help Beale's men into the third round of the competition.

Albion: Hollingshead; Ingram, Nguepissi (Hall), Harper-Bailey, Ashworth; Mfuamba, Whitwell (Shaw), Wangusi; R.Richards, Malcolm, Cleary (Higgins).

Substitutes: Cisse.
