Albion launch new 2022/23 home kit

22/23 Home Kit

Albion are delighted to unveil a supporter-designed home kit for the 2022/23 season.

The shirt - which was created by the fans, for the fans – takes inspiration from the famous knitted kit worn by club legends Tony Brown, Cyrille Regis, Bryan Robson and others in the late 1970s.

Exciting features include iconic italic ‘WBA’ lettering in place of the club crest, while the traditional blue-and-white stripes incorporate jagged edges, as seen on the original.

The new kit is now on sale in-store and online at £55 for adults and £45 for juniors.

Season ticket holders receive a five per cent discount when purchasing in person with their stilecard or online using their My Albion Single Sign On account.

A group of supporters from the Albion Assembly formed a sub-committee in 2021 to design the kit, linking up with Puma and the Baggies’ retail team to make their dream home shirt.

Today their design becomes a reality, and they are thrilled with the outcome.

Carl Burkitt
“My first season as a Baggie was 1978, what a team and what a shirt."

Lifelong Baggies fan and Albion Assembly member Carl Burkitt said: “My first season as a Baggie was 1978, what a team and what a shirt. I really hope the shirt is received well by all the fans, whatever their age.

“However long you have been a Baggie, the original shirt design of the late ‘70s is iconic, not just with Baggies fans but throughout football. Wear it with pride and enjoy everyone.”

While fellow Assembly member Spiro Marcetic admitted sharing responsibility for the design had left him feeling apprehensive.

He said: “I’m nervous to be honest, and I just hope the fans take to it. I don’t think I’ve ever been this apprehensive about anything - but, overall, I think the fans will like it, as it’s an Albion kit, no gimmicks.”

The shirt is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester, using ethically sourced materials with a wicking finish.

The sublimated front, back and shoulder panel detail is based on the 1970s home shirt style, including a V-neck collar and colour tape hem detail.
