West Bromwich Albion is delighted to confirm the University of Wolverhampton will be continuing as the club’s official Further Education Partner for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

The extension of the highly successful partnership comes nine years after it was first launched in 2013.

The University of Wolverhampton is a large university based in the West Midlands, offering undergraduate degrees and postgraduate courses across 3 faculties. West Bromwich Albion will work in collaboration with the university to offer internships, work placement opportunities and student experiences for University of Wolverhampton students across several departments at the club.

The partnership will also explore potential business development opportunities between the University, club and its ownership group and collaborative developments with the University’s Institute of Sport.

Simon King, Albion's Chief Commercial Officer, is delighted the club and the University of Wolverhampton have continued their partnership.

He said: “We are immensely proud to be continuing our partnership with the University of Wolverhampton. For years we have been working together to offer early career opportunities to young people in the community and I’m delighted this will continue.”

Emma Bull, University Registrar, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with West Bromwich Albion. The relationship provides exciting opportunities for our students to gain valuable experience working across different departments at the club and we are incredibly proud to be an official partner.”

Sachin Bargota, a BA (Hons) Business & Marketing Management student who completed a module focused on brand perception working with the Baggies, said: “The project was practical and engaging. I gained real insight into a live business and developing change for the first time.”

Jonathan Ward is a graduate of the University and is now Head of Partnerships, Events and Communications at The Albion Foundation. He said: “As a graduate of Wolverhampton, I know how great the University is and how well it engages with its students. It was a pleasure to work with the students on this marketing and business project.”

The University’s mission is to maximise opportunity through generating knowledge, innovation and enterprise. To be a progressive and influential sector leader, championing diversity, growth, and creating life changes for all while enhancing economic impact and accelerating ambition across the entire University community.
