Albion were beaten 1-0 by Birmingham City at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
August Priske's first-half penalty earned Blues the Sky Bet Championship points.
James Morrison’s men are back in action Tuesday evening with a trip to Wrexham.
The visitors forced Max O’Leary into a good, early save to Jay Stansfield’s close-range poke inside the opening six minutes.
But Albion soon had a better spell, creating two good chances when Aune Heggebø’s volley struck the post, and Felix Horn Myhre headed over from around 12-yards out.
Callum Styles also saw a well-struck free-kick pushed away, before Blues started to threaten again and found a breakthrough via the penalty spot, which Priske stepped up and converted.
O’Leary was then in action again ahead of the break to stop the scoreline worsening, superbly denying Phil Neumann’s surely goal-bound header.
A few excellent blocks ensured Blues didn’t extend their advantage after the restart, particularly when Chris Mepham threw himself in front of Jay Stansfield’s finish.
However, the hosts turned the momentum back their way and pushed for a leveller. Ousmane Diakité fired narrowly wide, while Chris Mepham had an effort kept out following a run.
Blues ‘keeper James Beadle prevented substitute Barney Stewart making an immediate impact, tipping his header over, while Brayann Pereira shot off-target, too.
But still, the Baggies couldn't convert any of their further opportunities, and were left to mull defeat in B71.
