Pardew confirms duo will travel

ALAN Pardew has confirmed Nacer Chadli and Matt Phillips will be in his travelling party for Saturday’s trip to Stoke City.

The Baggies boss has been without the attacking duo since his arrival at The Hawthorns in late November.

And Pardew believes the return of his “creative forces” will help his side find better balance in attack.

“They’re both training, it’s early days for them, but it’s good news,” said Albion’s Head Coach.

“The top of the pitch is where we’re dysfunctional a little bit, we just need to find a better balance.

“With the players I have available I think they will both be taken [to Stoke].

“I feel for the team a little bit. Some big creative forces haven’t been available.

“It will be nice to see them back and then to see what that offers.

“In the second-half against United we were much, much better. We were further up the pitch and we made it much more difficult for them.

“That’s how it’s got to be - at Liverpool we did it for almost 90 minutes.

“We’ve now just got to complete a game where we get two or three goals, which normally guarantees you a win.

“Until we start improving the goal-scoring sector we’re always going to be under pressure and that’s what we want to try and avoid.”
