Bio

Hailing from the south of England, French has had to move up north to pursue his professional goals.

Harry, who grew up in Newton Abbot, Devon - supporting Exeter City - started building his footballing exposure at local clubs WBB (Watts Blake Bearne) and Alphington, either side of signing for Plymouth Argyle up until U11s - featuring predominantly as a goalkeeper.

While difficult to believe he featured between the sticks due to his small, effective frame, WBB gave Harry the chance to show a clinical edge in the attacking third over four years at the club.

An attacker who can play anywhere across the frontline, French moved on from WBBA to have a short spell at Ganthan United prior to signing for fellow Devonshire and step 4 outfit, Tavistock, which is the club who allowed the forward to push his career to new heights.

Playing non-league football as a teenager built Harry up to be effective in every possible situation, which is why Albion took a chance on the youngster by bringing him in on trial, and after playing men's football as a 15-year-old, it's clear to see why.

French joined the Baggies' U16 team midway through the 2024/25 campaign, showing his capability in the U18s too - earning him a substitute appearance off the bench against Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final at The Hawthorns in February 2025.

All those experiences earned Harry a two-year scholarship in July 2025, and he certainly caught the eye during the 25/26 season - racing to the top of the scoring charts (netting more than 20 goals across all tournaments) in his age group while also scoring in the 4-3 FA Youth Cup triumph over AFC Bournemouth in December 2025.

Opportunities will continue to fall his way at The Hawthorns, as the forward looks to build an exciting future in the Black Country.
