Bio

Evan stepped up during an important part of his career at The Hawthorns.

Hailing from Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham, the left-back joined the club at the age of nine and was given full-time football at a higher level with the Under-21s during the second half of the 2022/23 season.

Despite being in the first year of his scholarship, Evan was thrown in to join Richard Beale's young pros to fill the void left by injuries and loan moves on the left side of defence. But the youngster made a quick transition, playing every game in the PL2 team (16 appearances) until the end of the 22/23 campaign and experiencing senior football in the Birmingham Senior Cup earlier than anticipated.

Those experiences undoubtedly brought Humphries' game on, and despite suffering an injury-hit second year during his time as a scholar, Evan battled back to end the campaign strong - skippering the U18s and putting in several commendable performances.

These displays didn't go without their recognition, as the defender picked up Albion's 2023/24 Scholar of the Year award at the Premier League's awards night.

More importantly, though, he was rewarded with his first professional contract in July 2024 - penning a two-year deal to continue his development at The Hawthorns.
