U18 Report | Reading 0-1 Albion

Divine Onyemachi, in home Albion colours.

Albion's U18 side claimed a hard-fought victory on their travels against Reading on Saturday.

Leigh Downing's side put in a positive first-half performance as they tested the Royals' back line with Eseosa Sule, Adriel Walker and Divine Onyemachi all coming close to breaking the deadlock early doors.

The breakthrough came just after the half hour mark for the Baggies, with Kevin Mfuamba playing in Onyemachi who saw his deflected effort find the back of the net.

The Royals came out for the second half with renewed vigour, but Albion came close to extending the lead with Dan Chimeziri, Walker and Sule all seeing opportunities to double their advantage go begging.

The hosts pushed late on for equaliser, but Albion held firm to claim the spoils.

ALBION: Brady, Kirton, Maughan (Humphries 63), Mfuamba (Beedie 63), Morrish, Sumnall, Chimeziri (Kone 73), Mandey, Sule, Walker, Onyemachi (Cherchi 86)
