Albion's youngsters were beaten 2-0 by West Ham over the weekend.

The Hammers, who top the standings, 15 points clear of second place, started strongly earning themselves a spot kick within the first 10 minutes.

Lewis Orford converted from 12 yards to hand the visitors the lead before Favour Fawunmi doubled their advantage just ahead of the 20 minute mark.

The Baggies were handed an opportunity early in the second half after Tyron Akpata was given his marching orders ahead of the hour mark.

Albion mounted a charge to try and find their way back into the game, with chances falling to Cheik Kone and Layton Love - but they couldn't convert.

The Hammers held out to secure victory, leaving Albion 10th in the table after 15 games.
