West Bromwich Albion travel to Swansea City on Sunday afternoon for a third-round tie in the Emirates FA Cup (ko 2.30pm).
The two clubs met as a recently as New Year's Day when a long-range effort from Jay Fulton was enough to secure three Sky Bet Championship points for Vitor Matos' men.
The Swans and the Baggies have faced each other just once in the most famous club cup competition in the world, with the Welsh side claiming a 3-2 triumph in the third round in January 1987.

The opposition
Swansea City will be looking forward to focusing on the Emirates FA Cup this weekend having steered themselves away from the Sky Bet Championship's drop zone in recent weeks.
The Swans are now eight points clear of the relegation places and have won five of their last eight second-tier games. They've suffered just three defeats in those eight fixtures, including a 2-1 reverse at Millwall last Saturday.
Sunday's hosts haven't experienced too much joy in the FA Cup in recent years and have failed to make it beyond round three in four of their last six attempts.
They lost convincingly, 3-0, at Southampton in the third round last year and will have their sights set on advancing into the next stage at the expense of the Baggies this weekend.
Their best finish in this particular competition was reaching the semi-finals twice in 1964 and 1926.
Boss Vitor Matos, appointed in late November of 2025, will be pleased with the impact he's had at the Swansea.com Stadium since his arrival. The 37-year-old Portuguese has won five and lost five of his ten games and has secured four straight home triumphs, keeping three clean sheets in the process. Matos has previously worked at Maritimo, out in China, at Liverpool and at Red Bull Salzburg, as well as at a number of clubs in his homeland including FC Porto.
Memorable meeting
The Baggies picked up three important Premier League points against the Swans in March 2014.
Roland Lamah scored as early as the second minute, but Albion notched twice after the break to turn the game around.
Stephane Sessegnon made it 1-1 shortly after the interval before Youssouf Mulumbu won it with five minutes remaining courtesy of a strike from outside the box.

Albion's recent Emirates FA Cup third-round record
AFC Bournemouth 5-1 Albion, January 2025
The Baggies were beaten at Premier League AFC Bournemouth last season. Caleb Taylor nodded the visitors into an early lead, but a strike from Justin Kluivert and a brace from Dango Ouattara left the hosts in a commanding position at the break. Antoine Semenyo made it 4-1 moments after the interval and Daniel Jebbison completed the scoring in the last minute.
Albion 4-1 Aldershot Town, January 2024
Albion eased into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a resounding triumph over non-league Aldershot in the 2023/24 term. The Throstles were 3-0 up at half time courtesy of efforts from Nathaniel Chalobah, Jovan Malcolm and Daryl Dike. Tom Fellows added another two minutes from the end, but the Shots did grab a late consolation through Oliver Bray. Watch the highlights below.
Albion 4-0 Chesterfield, January 2023
The Baggies needed a replay to advance beyond Chesterfield in the 2022/23 season. Carlos Corberán's team were held to a 3-3 draw at the home of the Spireites, but went on to defeat them 4-0 at The Hawthorns ten days later. John Swift, Tom Rogic, Jake Livermore and Jovan Malcolm were all on target in B71.
How's that for a stat
Albion are taking on Swansea City for the third time in just 44 days. The home team won both of the two Sky Bet Championship fixtures this season, with the Baggies claiming a 3-2 triumph at The Hawthorns and the Swans recording a 1-0 success on New Year's Day.
The Baggies have won the FA Cup five times, lifting the trophy most recently in 1968. The furthest the Swans have ever gone in the competition is the last four, reaching that stage twice in 1926 and 1964.
Albion are taking on a team from the same division in the FA Cup for the first time since 2023 when they suffered a 3-0 defeat at Bristol City in the fourth round.
James Morrison is taking charge of his third West Bromwich Albion senior fixture. He won four points from two matches at the end of the 2024/25 campaign, with the Baggies drawing 0-0 at Cardiff City and winning 5-3 at home to Luton Town.
Colours for the road
