Rabby Nzingoula says he can’t wait to demonstrate his ability in a new country and at a new club having penned a three-year contract with West Bromwich Albion.
The 20-year-old midfielder has joined James Morrison’s men from French Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg, becoming the Baggies’ seventh summer signing.
Nzingoula arrives at The Hawthorns having made more than 50 senior appearances across spells in his homeland with Strasbourg and then Montpellier, as well as FC Nürnberg in Germany.
Rabby, who labelled “athleticism” as one of his best attributes, believes his style of play is suited to the Championship and hopes to flourish in the division for the Albion.
The new man said: “I’m really excited to test myself in England and to play in the Championship.
“It’s a really good league and a really tough one too. It has a lot of high intensity, and I think that fits perfectly with my style of play.
“To be honest I haven’t watched too many Championship games, but I’ve certainly heard plenty about it and I know that it’s a really good league. I’m really excited to get playing. From the games I have seen, it’s clear to see it’s a very good, physical and demanding division.
“There are a lot of players with talent here at the club and the head coach has so much playing experience. I know that he played over 300 games here and I know he was a very good midfielder, so I really believe he can help me and develop me into a much better player.
“That was an important point for me – for the head coach to have a lot of football experience and he certainly has got that. It was one of the reasons which convinced me to come here.
“One of my best attributes is athleticism – I can run a lot and recover balls. I can run forward and I can defend. I would like to improve with the ball and score more goals in the final third and be more decisive for the team.
“I have moved away from France before when I went on loan to Germany and I am someone who enjoys travelling, so coming to England won’t be a big change for me. It’s always good to discover new places and that has always helped me in my career and in my life.”
