Forward Izzy Lane has had quite the journey in football despite only being 22 years old.
Known for her quick attacking transitions, clinical finishing and ability to play across the frontline, Lane’s playing career has helped carve her into a dynamic threat for Albion.
Izzy’s first taste of football came at a young age and she represented a host of clubs as a youth. Her career started off at Enfield Rangers before she was snapped up by MK Dons, where she played under-14s football.
Her academy career flourished and she moved on to Oxford United at under-16 level prior to a big move to Tottenham Hotspur.
She joined Spurs Women’s under-21s squad and continued to shine, earning her place in the first team as a teenager. Lane scored on her debut against Watford in the Continental Cup and would go on to feature in a host of cup matches, even playing at the Emirates and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Izzy looked to continue her development in the United States of America in 2022, where she became a student-athlete at the University of Delaware, playing in the NCAA Division 1.
Over two seasons, Lane featured 35 times, scoring twice and assisting a further seven goals. She was also named in the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team in 2022. For the second half of her four years on the other side of the Atlantic, Izzy played for the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
She again featured 35 times across two seasons, this time scoring two and assisting three. Lane was an integral part of the UTSA side that won the American Conference Championship in 2025 – a competition that pits a host of universities and colleges from Pennsylvania to Texas against each other.
After graduating, Izzy returned to England and signed for Real Bedford in February. She featured six times, scoring three goals, and can now show Baggies fans what she has to offer following what is already a fascinating footballing journey.
