West Bromwich Albion travel to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon for a fourth-round tie against Norwich City in the Emirates FA Cup (ko 3pm).

The Baggies, who head into the encounter on the back of consecutive 0-0 draws in the Sky Bet Championship, secured a spot in round four thanks to a penalty shootout triumph over Swansea City in January.

Hosts Norwich have won six of their last seven fixtures in competitions, including a comfortable 5-1 success over Sky Bet League two side Walsall in round three.

The two second-tier rivals have met four times in the FA Cup, with Albion winning three and the Canaries claiming a victory in the other.

The opposition

Norwich City have had an incredibly positive start to 2026 and will be determined to maintain their positive momentum this weekend.

The Canaries were in the thick of a relegation battle heading into the new year, but they've managed to collect 18 points from the last 24 on offer - results which have seen them surge up the Sky Bet Championship table, moving seven points clear of the bottom three.

As previously mentioned, Saturday's hosts have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions, including the 5-1 victory over Walsall in round three of the Emirates FA Cup.

Norwich, who defeated Oxford United 3-0 at the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night, have scored 19 goals in those seven fixtures and will have their sights set on reaching the last 16 of the world's most famous domestic club cup competition.

Saturday's hosts have never won the FA Cup. City's best-ever finish is reaching the semi final on three separate occasions, but they'll be intent on taking one step closer to Wembley this weekend.

Belgian Philippe Clement is their manager and has been since taking over from Liam Manning in the middle of November 2025. He's completely turned their season around, dragging them out of the bottom three and up towards the top half of the division. The 51-year-old former Monaco boss has a record of 10 wins, three draws and just five defeats from his 18 games in charge.

Memorable meeting

Albion recorded a crucial 1-0 Premier League triumph at Carrow Road in April 2014.

Morgan Amalfitano scored the only goal of the game in the opening 20 minutes. Check out the strike below!

Albion 0-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers, January 2024

The Baggies suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to their rivals at the end of January in 2024. Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha scored the goals for the visitors.

Bristol City 3-0 Albion, January 2023

The Robins secured safe passage to round five of the Emirates FA Cup with a comfortable 3-0 victory over below-par Albion in the 2022/23 term. Sam Bell bagged a brace, with Alex Scott also on target for the hosts on what was an afternoon to forget for Carlos Corberán's team.

West Ham United 0-1 Albion, January 2020

The Baggies knocked Premier League West Ham United out of the Emirates FA Cup in the 2019/20 campaign. Conor Townsend scored the only goal of the game, firing home a terrific left-footed effort from just inside the box. Check it out below.

How's that for a stat

The Baggies haven't made it to round five of the Emirates FA Cup since the 2019/20 campaign. They defeated Londoners Charlton Athletic and West Ham United by 1-0 scorelines in the capital city in rounds three and four respectively, setting up a tie with Newcastle United in the last 16. Slaven Bilic's team were then beaten 3-2 by the Magpies at The Hawthorns.

Albion have the chance to go three games unbeaten for the first time since a run of seven without defeat in all competitions in 90 minutes between April and August 2025.

The Baggies have kept back-to-back clean sheets. The last time they kept three clean sheets on the spin was during a run of three in October 2023.

The two teams will be going head-to-head in the Emirates FA Cup for the first time since January 2012 when the Canaries won 2-1 at The Hawthorns in round four.

Norwich City have reached round five in just two of the last 13 seasons. Albion have reached round five in four of the last 15 campaigns.
