Molumby eager for ‘success’ at The Hawthorns

Jayson Molumby

Jayson Molumby says Albion’s ambition of securing promotion back to the Premier League was one of the main reasons for joining the club.

The Republic of Ireland international has agreed a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move, having spent time at both Millwall and Preston North End over the last two years.

Molumby, who describes himself as an “athletic midfielder who likes to get around the pitch”, jumped at the opportunity to move to The Hawthorns when he first heard of the interest and insists he’s confident he can be “successful” in B71.

He said: “It’s a massive club and I’m delighted to be here.

“I took my time in the window to decide where I wanted to be, so I was absolutely delighted when a club of Albion’s size came in for me.

“I first heard of the interest a few days ago and it all seemed to move forward quite quickly from there.

“I’m athletic. I’m a midfielder who likes to get around the pitch and be quite aggressive when needed.

“One of the main reasons I jumped at the offer was the fact the club is trying to get out of the Championship and into the Premier League.

“As a footballer you want to be part of something successful and I’m confident I can achieve success here.

“I know Callum Robinson and Dara O’Shea from the Republic of Ireland. They’ve both done really well here and also for Ireland.

“It’s brilliant to have familiar faces here at the club.

“I’ve been trying to establish myself. I feel like I’m ready to settle at a club and be a key member of the team. I’m confident I can do that here.

“I just can’t wait to get going.”
