West Bromwich Albion will be hoping to make it back-to-back away victories in the Sky Bet Championship when they take on Millwall at The Den on Saturday afternoon (ko 3pm).

Ryan Mason's men claimed a 1-0 triumph at Norwich City on Wednesday night thanks to Josh Maja's first goal of the season - the Baggies' third win in four league matches on their travels so far in 2025/26.

Hosts Millwall also played on Wednesday night, but suffered a very different result to the Albion. The Lions were beaten 4-0 at home by Coventry City, a result which ended their three-match unbeaten run.

The opposition

Millwall will want to show a positive reaction to the disappointing midweek defeat against Coventry City in front of their own supporters when Albion come to town this weekend.

The Lions' 4-0 setback at the hands of the Sky Blues was their heaviest loss since going down 5-1 at Plymouth in February and brought their three-game unbeaten run to an abrupt halt.

Saturday's hosts have won three, lost three and drawn two of their opening eight league games, with all three defeats coming at The Den to Middlesbrough (0-3), Wrexham (0-2) and Coventry.

Boss Alex Neil, appointed in the final days of December in 2024, will be demanding more from his group on home soil and has targeted much-improved results in South East London.

Neil, 44, has previous managerial experience with Hamilton, Norwich City, Preston North End, Sunderland and Stoke. His Lions record reads 18 victories, seven draws and 12 defeats from 37 encounters in charge.

Millwall have had five top-half finishes in the last six years and the Scot has his sights set on ending the 2025/26 term in the upper reaches of the second tier once again.

Memorable meeting

The Baggies defeated Millwall 2-0 in stormy conditions in February 2020.

Filip Krovinovic opened the scoring in the first period with a well-placed strike from outside the box. Dara O'Shea's glancing header at the near post in the second half then secured all three points.

Check out the highlights below.

Albion's recent record at The Den

Millwall 1-1 Albion, February 2025

The Baggies picked up a point the last time they visited The Den earlier on in the calendar year. Jake Cooper's towering header gave Millwall the lead, but a scrappy own goal from Joe Bryan presented the visitors an equaliser before the break. Stopper Joe Wildsmith made a number of impressive saves after the interval, with no further goals scored in the contest.

Millwall 1-1 Albion, March 2024

The two teams played out another 1-1 draw at The Den on Good Friday in 2024. Duncan Watmore raced clear and finished confidently to give the hosts the lead in the 21st minute. But the Baggies managed to find a way back and levelled matters when John Swift converted a penalty in the middle of the second 45. Watch that particular goal below.

Millwall 2-1 Albion, October 2022

The Lions secured all three points in dramatic circumstances in the early part of the 2022/23 term. John Swift's strike made it 1-0 to the Albion after 20 minutes, but Callum Styles equalised against his future club before the half-time whistle. Kyle Bartley was dismissed in the final five minutes and Millwall went on to take full advantage of the extra man, with Tyler Burey bagging the winner right at the death.

How's that for a stat

The last five fixtures between Millwall and West Bromwich Albion have all ended level.

Millwall are eight games unbeaten against the Baggies (W2, D6). Albion's last win over the Lions was the 2-0 triumph at The Den in February 2020.

Albion boss Ryan Mason made six appearances for Millwall while on loan there between January and May of 2012.

Millwall have played four home matches in the Sky Bet Championship so far this season. Only one team has scored in all four of those games.

Saturday's clash is the 50th meeting between the two teams. Millwall edge the head-to-head record with 18 wins compared to Albion's 15. There have also been 16 draws.

Colours for the road

Ryan Mason's men will wear their green and yellow away kit in London this weekend.
