New Albion Women addition Izzy Lane says she’s joining a “family” atmosphere by linking up with the Baggies.

The winger signs after spells at Real Bedford, Tottenham Hotspur and the University of Delaware.

Lane has already made her Albion debut after appearing at The Hawthorns against Birmingham City PGA, before coming off the bench at the Alexander Stadium last weekend.

Now she’s made her bow in navy-blue-and-white, the new No.44 is hoping to “be direct” as she bolsters Charlie Fripp’s attacking ranks amidst a positive run for the team.

She said: “I’m really excited. I’ve played with the girls a bit already but it seems like a family atmosphere, and I’m excited to go into league action this weekend as well.

“I came here during pre-season for a bit, and everyone’s really nice. It’s the best place to be for my career.

“It was great to play at The Hawthorns. I really loved being in that environment, and coming on to play there was great. It shows what the club is, and what they’ve invested in the team.

“I’m a very fast, attack-minded player who just wants to get across the box and get crosses in - I want to keep being direct.

“It’s a family mentality here, which I think will help. We’re still playing well, we’re still pushing now, we want to get seven wins and to get that record.

“I came in a little bit late, which maybe makes you think it’s hard to get into the group, but they’ve made me feel at home from the moment I got here.

“Personally, I want to help the team by scoring and assisting. As a team, we want to win the league and go as far as we can in the cups.”
