Ipswich Town beat Albion 1-0 in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Clarke’s 83rd minute goal was the difference at Portman Road, handing the Tractor Boys all three points.

The hosts put Ryan Mason’s men under pressure during the opening stages - Josh Griffiths making two good stops from Jaden Philogene’s efforts, while Jack Taylor shot wide too.

But the Baggies grew into proceedings and threatened via a few set pieces. Nat Phillips nodded an early one wide, and Sam Iling-Junior’s volley from the edge of the box was also well closed down as the game remained 0-0 when half-time arrived.

After the break, Albion enjoyed more possession and prodded Town’s backline, though only really had blocked efforts by George Campbell and Iling-Junior to show for it.

Ipswich then caused problems down the other end - yet substitute Marcelino Nunez scuffed wide, and Sindre Walle Egeli guided two attempts off-target.

Isaac Price flicked an opportunity onto the roof of the net with the match looking destined to finish goalless.

However, Clarke’s late close-range finish won it for Town, keeping the points in Suffolk.
